The electrifying 9th full-length from Czech avant-Black Metal voyagers INFERNO distils the bleak grandeur of 2021's "Paradeigma" into another disturbed and profound psychological trip, where the listener takes the role of 'silent witness to the chaos within our cosmos'. "The Anthropic Sophisms" is layered, hypnotic and compelling extreme music that breathes anew in nighttime hours. These are strange, viscous dimensions where deep space Black Metal, Industrial brutalism, malevolent motorik rhythms, crackling electronics and obscure vocals collide in an ecstatic, perma-climatic trance without hope of resolution or a semblance of light. Subliminal horrors from voices, synths and textures creep and envelop. Riffs stretch, repeat, and intertwine, creating fields of interference with each line acting as a pressure wave. There is little traditional harmony; the guitars generating pulsating tension and dramatic strata that merge with bass and drums into mesmeric structures, given clarity and force via a weighty mix by Tim De Gieter (AMENRA, TREHA SEKTORI) and master by James Plotkin (KHANATE, THOU).
